orbithunter.RelativeOrbitKS.change_reference_frame

RelativeOrbitKS.change_reference_frame(frame)[source]

Transform to (or from) the co-moving frame depending on the current reference frame

Parameters
Returns
——-
RelativeOrbitKS :

RelativeOrbitKS in transformed reference frame.

Notes

This operation occurs in spatial Fourier mode basis because I feel its more straightforward to understand a time parameterized shift of spatial modes; this is the consistent approach given how the shifts are calculated.

Spatiotemporal modes are not designed to be used in the physical reference frame due to Gibbs’ phenomenon due to discontinuity. Physical reference frame should really only be used to plot the relative periodic field.
